Run by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, The Pierce County Juvenile Detention currently houses a maximum capacity of 64 inmates who are held in nine connecting housing units, plus the Receiving and Discharge/Transport unit.
The Operations Division of Pierce County Juvenile Detention is responsible for the day to day operations of the jail. This division manages the facility and keeps inmate population at a controllable level.
This facility has maintained accreditation from the Corrections Bureau by the American Correctional Association. Presently, they are one of only two facilities in the State of Wisconsin to hold this accreditation.
Pierce County Detention Center main mission is to protect their staff, inmates, and the community they serve. They also want to provide the best of the best programs to help reduce the likelihood of inmates being re-incarcerated.
The Pierce County Detention Center offers its inmates many programs while they are serving out their time. These programs include:
