The Marinette County Juvenile Detention is one of the direct supervision facility.  A direct supervision jail mainly focuses on managing the inmate’s behavior to provide a secure and humane environment for staff, visitors, and inmates. The staff will interact with the inmates in their housing units, while also keeping an eye on them to pinpoint issues before they get too big.

The Marinette County Juvenile Detention houses inmates who are waiting for their trial to start, inmates who are going through their trial, and the inmate’s who have already been sentenced.

The facility is managed and licensed by the state of Wisconsin. The facility can house nearly 280 inmates in five separate housing units. The facility is over 78,000 square. The facility consists of a full-service medical unit, a gymnasium, computer lab, fully staffed kitchen, library, pre-book and booking area, and a master control center.

Every housing unit is nearly the same. They will consist of a video visitation area, telephones to call home, gaming and dining tables, a common television, recreational area, a classroom, and a canteen/vending machines.

The Marinette County Juvenile Detention also offers its inmates a wide variety of programs and services including educational programs, substance abuse classes, medical services, and much more.
