The Door County Detention Facility is located in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. The Door County Detention Facility is operated and managed by the Door County Sheriff’s Office.
The Door County Detention Facility mission is to provide a safe and secure facility for both inmates and the staff. The facility is a medium security correctional facility.
Majority of the inmates that are already sentenced have sentences less than two years. The Door County Detention Facility accepts inmates from surrounding municipalities and towns when there are no rooms in city jails.
The Door County Detention Facility receives new inmates to the jail daily. While new inmates are coming in, there are also inmates leaving as well. Inmates are released when they post bail, placed under probation, or on their own recognizance. All inmates that are released from the Door County Detention Facility will be released between 7 PM to 9 PM.
All inmates in the Door County Detention Facility will have access to medical care when needed. They will have access to three meals a day, as well as hygiene products.
While inmates are serving their time out in the Door County Detention Facility, they can work throughout the jail such as laundry personnel or a kitchen staff member. In return for their hard work, they can shave off a few days from their overall sentence.
