The Columbia County Jail & Detention Center is commonly referred to as the Columbia County Detention Center. The main mission of the facility is to provide a safe and humane environment for the inmates of Columbia County.
The Columbia County Jail & Detention Center opened its doors back in 1999. The facility was designed to house up to 69 inmates.
The Columbia County Jail & Detention Center was equipped to hold inmates with the security classification of minimum, medium, and maximum alongside work-release inmates.
The Columbia County Jail & Detention Center has 9 full-time along with 6 part-time correctional officers, a Jail Administrator, and a Jail Programmer.
The facility also comes equipped with a Public Health Nurse that visits the detention center three times each week.
The Columbia County Jail has many services and programs inmates can take advantage of. These services and programs are put into place to help inmates not re-offend when they get released from the facility. However, these programs and services include, but not limited to the following:
