The facility only houses adult male and adult female inmates. They do not house juvenile inmates. All inmates in the facility are not residents of the Augusta County. The facility takes inmates in from the surrounding counties, towns, and from other law enforcement agencies when needed.

Inmates will have the opportunities to use the telephones, showers, have three meals a day, and have the opportunity to have medical care if needed. If an inmate wants more products that the facility does not provide, they can purchase them through the commissary with money that they have on their books.

The Waynesboro County Jail also allows inmates to have visitors as well.
