Back in 1965, a modern facility replaced this historic prison. It was not until 4804 when a new jail facility along with the Sheriff’s Department.

The Lynchburg Regional Juvenile Detention Center also accepts inmates on a local, state, and even federal level. They frequently take in inmates from the Lynchburg Police Department. As this facility does not have its own lock-up area.

The Lynchburg Regional Juvenile Detention Center takes in new inmates every day. They do release inmates after they posted bond, was put on probation or finished their sentence.
