The goal of the Dillon County Jail is to have all of their staff members meet and exceed the standards that the Administrative Codes, South Carolina State Statutes, and the United State Constitution set forth. All staff members will go through rigorous training to meet every procedure and policy to ensure the safety of both the other staff members and the community.
The facility not only meets and exceeds state standards, but the facility also exceeds the national standards as well. The Dillon County Detention Center has a safe and humane environment. Sheriff Leahy is responsible for all of the jail operations.
This section will house inmates who are non-violent. The minimum-security section opened their doors back in 1994. This section is also known as the Minimum Security Misdemeanant Section. This section can house up to 120 inmates.
