The Montour County Prison is situated in Danville, Pennsylvania. The Montour County Sheriff’s Office is the law enforcement agency responsible for maintaining and operating the Montour County Prison on a day to day basis.
The Montour County Jail & Annex works closely with various sheriff’s, police departments, and the United States Marshals.
The Montour County Prison accepts incoming inmates on a daily basis. The Montour County Prison frequently takes in the people arrested by the Danville Police Department, as they do not have their own lockup area. The facility is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The facility will take inmates from other law enforcement agencies on a local, state, and even federal level.
Inmates will also be allowed to access medical care, use the telephones, and send and receive letters as well. The visitation is only for inmates who are not on any disciplinary status. The Montour County Prison allows inmates to have two half-hour visits every week. Inmates will need to be in the facility for at least 72 hours before they will be permitted to have their first visit.
