The Multnomah County Jail is responsible for keeping and maintaining a safe and humane environment for both its correctional officers and their inmates. Their staff members will complete a rigorous training that is designed for both their safety and the safety of the inmates they are in charge of.
The Multnomah County & Annex provides the inmates with all the necessary tools and resources to help them work on themselves and not commit the same mistakes and end back up in jail for reoffending.
Inmates who are deemed violent or may disrupt the peace will be separated from the general population of inmates.
The Multnomah County Juvenile Detention Center accepts inmates from surrounding municipalities and towns when there are no rooms in city jails. Majority of the inmates that are already sentenced have sentences less than two years.
The Multnomah County Jail has its inmate roster available for the general public to look at. This will have all the inmates that are currently sitting in the Multnomah County Jail.
All violent and out of control inmates will be separated from the general population inmates to keep the peace inside the facility at all times.
The Multnomah County Jail & Annex works closely with various sheriff’s, police departments, and the United States Marshals.
The Multnomah County Jail is accredited by the Oregon Corrections Accreditation Commission.
