The Jackson County Jail is operated and ran by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
The facility comes equipped with their very own kitchen that makes nearly over 200,000 meals every year for their inmates, a laundry facility, and even medical offices to treat their inmates when needed. The Jackson County Jail houses both adult female and adult male inmates.
In return for their work, they can shave off a few days from their sentence. While inmates are serving their time out in the Jackson County Jail, they can work throughout the jail such as laundry personnel or a kitchen staff member.
Majority of the inmates that are already sentenced have sentences less than two years. The Jackson County Jail accepts inmates from surrounding municipalities and towns.
However, not all inmates in the Jackson County Jail have already been sentenced. The facility also holds inmates who are currently awaiting trial and those who have violated their probation or bond terms.
The facility was built back in 2015. Mark Burns, Lieutenant has been the Jackson County Jail commander over the last 10 years.
