The Fulton County Jail is a medium-security facility. The facility houses both adult female and adult male inmates. The facility does not house any juvenile inmates.
The Fulton County Jail that you know today, was not the once awesome state of the art jail that you see now. In Wauseon, Ohio the Old Fulton County Jail is a historic site. This original jail was constructed back in 1903.
Back in August of 1982, the Old Fulton County Jail was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The Old Fulton County Jail is one of the last hanging buildings in the Fulton County area.
Back in 1965, a modern facility replaced this historic prison. It was not until 2004 when a new jail facility along with the Sheriff’s Department.
Not all inmates who are in the Fulton County Jail are residents of Fulton County. The Fulton County Jail also accepts inmates on a local, state, and even federal level. They frequently take in inmates from the Wauseon Police Department. As this facility does not have its own lock-up area.
The Fulton County Jail takes in new inmates every day. They do release inmates after they posted bond, was put on probation or finished their sentence.
