The Ramsey County Jail is nestled in Devils Lake, North Dakota. The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office Is the law enforcement agency responsible for the day to day operation of the Ramsey County Jail.
The Ramsey County Jail is a medium-security facility. This facility will house adult male and adult female inmates. This facility does not house any juveniles. Juveniles are housed in a different facility in the county.
The Ramsey County Jail mainly house inmates who are waiting for their trial to start, inmates who are going through their trial, and inmates waiting to be sentenced. There are a handful of inmates serving out their time in the facility. The Ramsey County Jail will only keep inmates who have a sentence less than 2 years. If an inmate has a sentence for more than two years, they will be transferred to state prison.
