The Tyrrell County Jail is also known as the Tyrrell County Jail. The Tyrrell County Jail is situated adjacent to the Tyrrell County Public Safety Building. The facility is also nearly one mile from the Tyrrell County Courthouse.
The main goal of the Tyrrell County Jail is to provide a safe and humane environment for both the correctional officers and the inmates who are serving time in the facility. The facility not only meets the state standards, but the facility also surpasses the national standards when it comes to jail safety.
The Tyrrell County Jail not only works with the Tyrrell County Sheriff’s Office. They also work with other law enforcement agencies including the County Correction facilities in North Carolina alongside the state prisons.
The jail can only house adult inmates. They house both male and female inmates. By law, they need to separate the male and female inmate population.
The Tyrrell County Jail offers its inmates a wide variety of programs and services. These include but not limited to the following:

- Adult Work Programs
- Adult Community Service
- Adult Education
These programs are designed to help inmates improve upon themselves to become productive members of society.
Every inmate in the Tyrrell County Jail will be provided with bed linens, uniforms, three meals a day, and medical care.
