The Polk County Jail is a medium-security facility. The main mission of the detention center is to provide many services along with necessary operations not only for the protection of the community, but also to provide a safe and humane environment for the staff working inside the Polk County Jail. The facility also wants to maintain respect for all inmates in their custody.
The Polk County Jail provides its wide variety of services including educational programs such as GED Prep, MATCH/PATCH Program, Law Library Services, Reentry Program, Social Services, and Chaplaincy Services.
Not all inmates in the Polk County Jail are residents of Polk County. The Polk County Jail also accepts inmates from the local, state, and even federal level. Not all inmates in the facility are also serving their sentence. Majority of the inmates are currently waiting for their trial to start, going through their trial, or waiting to be sentenced.
