Located in Fort Sumner, New Mexico, and run by the Debaca County Sheriff’s Department, the De Baca County Detention Center houses inmates in the county from low level to higher level crimes.
Every year De Baca County Detention Center averages 3500 bookings, with a daily average of 175 Inmates and a staff of 43.
The facility currently has 159 general population beds, 13 fixed beds for booking, 1 padded cell, 1 medical isolation cell, and 1 large intake holding cell for overflow inmates. Twenty-eight of the 175 beds are for female inmates.
The De Baca County Detention Center currently employs:

The Debaca County Inmates are provided three meals a day that are approved by a dietician in accordance with the New Mexico Nutritional Standards. The kitchen staff oversees the food preparation and delivery.
Family and Friends of inmates are permitted to:
• Receive phone calls from inmates
• Send inmates commissary money
• Receive and send inmates mail
• Visit inmates during visiting hours
Inmates in De Baca County Detention Center are provided with a variety of programs including a GED program, 12-step meetings, religious services, and more.
