Located in Trenton, New Jersey, and run by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department, the Mercer County Juvenile Detention houses inmates in the county from low level to higher level crimes.
The kitchen staff oversees the food preparation and delivery. The Mercer County Inmates are provided three meals a day that are approved by a dietician in accordance with the New Jersey Nutritional Standards.
The Mercer County Jail is a medium-security facility. This facility does not house any juveniles. The facility is home to adult female and adult male inmates. Juveniles are housed in another facility in the county.
They also will carry out random cell searches and checks. They will also serve food, deliver mail, and enforce all of the detention center rules that are carried out by the State of New Jersey. The Deputies are the ones who are responsible for managing all day to day operations that goes on in the Mercer County Jail & Detention Center.
