Morrill County Jail opened its doors back in 1994. The reason for the detention center was to provide a safer community for all involved. With the new State REgulations rolling out, the county jail that was standing prior to Morrill County Jail wasn’t able to meet all of these requirements set forth.
This new facility that is now known as the Morrill County Jail took many years of careful planning. There were many agencies involved with the planning including the Morrill County Jail Administrators, the Morrill County Sheriff, Thomas Altiere, and many other agencies to make this dream become a reality.
All visitors will be required to undergo a body check to ensure there is no contraband coming into the facility. The visitation schedule is listed. The visitation will go by the inmates the last name and their gender.
The facility operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. The facility frequently takes inmates from the Bridgeport Police Department since they do not have their own personal long-term lockup. The Morrill County Jail accepts inmates from other law enforcement agencies on a local, state, and even federal level.
