The Boone County Jail is nestled in Albion, Nebraska. The Boone County Sheriff’s Office is the law enforcement agency responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the Boone County Jail.
When an inmate gets admitted to the Boone County Jail they will be given bed sheets, blankets, mattress, towel, uniforms, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, and soap. Every other item an inmate will need can be purchased from the commissary. Indigent inmates will be provided with personal hygiene products.
In the commissary, inmates can purchase items such as junk food, beverages, clothing, sneakers, entertainment items, and much more. The canteen is also known as the commissary. The Boone County Jail has a canteen. The commissary is brought to the facility by Trinity Services Group.
If an inmate is sentenced to more than two years, they will be transferred to a state prison in Nebraska. That does not mean, there are not inmates who are currently serving out their sentence in the facility. The Boone County Jail will typically hold inmates who are waiting for their trial to start, inmates currently going through their trial, and inmates who are waiting to be sentenced. The Boone County Jail will only house inmates that have a sentence of 2 years or less.
