First and foremost, the Ray County Juvenile is one of the largest bureaus that has over 450 employees who provide many services including providing for those who are in their custody, welfare, among many other programs and services. The Ray County Juvenile provides all of these services for nearly 2,700 inmates on a regular basis.
All correctional officers are required to attend the correction/detention officer basic course held by the Missouri Law Enforcement Academy in Helena, Missouri. The facilities main goal is to provide a safe and humane environment for the correctional officers and the inmates who are currently residing in jail.
Some have been tried and are serving shorter times for their convictions. Probation violations and drug offenses are the crimes that most of these inmates commit. Most inmates housed at Ray County Juvenile are awaiting their court dates.
