The Greene County Jail is nestled in Springfield, Missouri. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office Is the law enforcement agency responsible for the day to day operation of the Greene County Jail.
The Greene County Jail is a medium-security facility. This facility will house adult male and adult female inmates. This facility does not house any juveniles. Juveniles are housed in a different facility in the county.
The Greene County Jail mainly house inmates who are waiting for their trial to start, inmates who are going through their trial, and inmates waiting to be sentenced. There are a handful of inmates serving out their time in the facility. The Greene County Jail will only keep inmates who have a sentence less than 2 years.
