Benton County Jail opened its doors back in 1994. The reason for the detention center was to provide a safer community for all involved. With the new State REgulations rolling out, the county jail that was standing prior to Benton County Jail wasn’t able to meet all of these requirements set forth.

The Benton County Jail was designed to meet and surpass the State Requirements. However, the facility also was designed to ensure a safe environment for the correctional officers. The building materials that were used to build the Trumball County Detention Center was used as it would create a maintenance-free, yet long-term complex.

The Benton County Jail uses the latest and greatest Security Automation technology alongside all of the new and improved Policy and Procedures manual. The Benton County Jail will be able to utilize all of the functions that the Benton County Adult Justice Center offers.

This new facility that is now known as the Benton County Jail took many years of careful planning. There were many agencies involved with the planning including the Benton County Jail Administrators, the Benton County Sheriff, Thomas Altiere, and many other agencies to make this dream become a reality.
