The Lee County Detention Center is nestled in Tupelo, Mississippi. The Lee County Detention Center is operated and managed by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
The main mission of the facility is to provide a safe and secure environment where inmates are treated with respect and dignity and learn how to take initiative for their actions. The Lee County Detention Center is an all level security facility.
All inmates in the facility will have access to showers, three meals a day, and medical care.
The Lee County Detention Center also accepts inmates from the local, state, and even federal level. Not all inmates in the Lee County Detention Center are residents of Lee County. Not all inmates in the facility are also serving their sentence. Majority of the inmates are currently waiting for their trial to start, going through their trial, or waiting to be sentenced.
The facility consists of an office portion where the jailers will sit at their desk along with two holding pens where they old the current arrestees waiting to be processed and booked into the facility or those who will soon be released from the facility after they detoxify. As of today, the Lee County Detention Center can house up to 32 inmates at any given time. The jail is fairly small.
