The facility is staffed with 10 full-time correctional officers alongside the jail administration. All correctional officers will be required to undergo a 120-hour course held by the Mississippi Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. All correctional officers will also need to be certified in CPR and first aid.
The Alcorn County Juvenile Detention Center is a medium-security detention center that can hold up to 32 inmates at any given time. This facility will house adult male and adult female inmates. This facility does not house any juveniles. Inmates in the facility will either be waiting for their trial or serving out their sentence.
