The Muskegon County Jail is operated and managed by the Muskegon County Sheriff’s Office.
The facility was built back in 2015. Mark Burns, Lieutenant has been the Muskegon County Jail commander over the last 10 years.
The Muskegon County Jail can hold up to 542 inmates. The facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The jail has four Sergeants or also known as supervisors alongside 48 additional correctional officers that work on a rotating shift.
The Muskegon County Jail has its inmate database available online for the general public to search at their leisure. The database only shoes inmates who are currently serving time in the facility. The database does not show inmates who were either released from the facility or transferred to another facility.
The Muskegon County Jail houses both adult female and adult male inmates. The facility comes equipped with their very own kitchen that makes nearly over 200,000 meals every year for their inmates, a laundry facility, and even medical offices to treat their inmates when needed.
All inmates in the facility will have access to showers, the telephones, having 3 meals a day, and medical treatment when needed. Inmates will also be able to participate in programs such as educational and substance abuse programs as while they are serving their time out.
