The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office is the agency responsible for maintaining and running the Macomb County Jail.
As of today, the Macomb County Jail can hold up to 1,238 inmates at any given time. The facility is not only home to inmates who have already been sentenced. The facility also holds inmates who are waiting for their trial, inmates going through the judicial system, and inmates who didn’t make (or was denied) bond.
The Macomb County Jail is staffed by the Deputy Sheriffs, a number of volunteers and support staff, Correctional Officers, and Sheriff Command Officers.
The facility offers many services to its inmates while they are in their custody. These services include but not limited to visitation, bonds, inmate location, snail mail, funds and reimbursements, and their private property.
The Macomb County Jail also offers its inmates many programs to help aid them in their rehabilitation process. These programs are designed to help inmates become productive members of the community upon their release.

- Community Corrections
- Community Service Alternatives (Only for non-violent inmates)
- Correct Care Solutions
- Jail Ministry
- L’anse Creuse Correctional Education
- Prisoner Work Details (Under the sheriff’s office supervision)
- Work Release Program
