The Warren County decided to begin the long and drawn out process to build a brand new sheriff’s office and jail in the early 2007 year. It wasn’t until February of 2012 when the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and the Warren County Regional Jail opened its doors. The facility is a brand new state of the art jail and office.
This second jail could hold another 214 inmates. This jail cost nearly $5.3 million. It’s known as the “West Wing.” As of now, this wing currently is the female and new inmate arrival wing. This second jail is still in use today. Back in August of 1975, while the Sheriff on duty was Jim Hardcastle, they decided to build a second jail.
The Warren County Regional Jail is the jail that the Bowling Green Police Department uses when they arrest individuals. The Warren County Regional Jail is a medium-security facility. This facility houses both adult male and adult female inmates.
Warren County Regional Jail wants to provide a safe and humane environment for both the staff members and the inmates. They want to ensure that inmates safety and health come first along with the staff’s safety as well. The staff members will do their rounds 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure there are no issues with inmates and to ensure that no inmate can escape from the facility.
