The Butler County Jail is operated and managed by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office. The Butler County Jail is in Morgantown, Kentucky.
The entire purpose of the Butler County Jail is to contain people who are arrested for crimes they have committed throughout Butler County.
The Cook County Jail accepts inmates from surrounding municipalities and towns. Majority of the inmates that are already sentenced have sentences less than two years.
The jail is here to ensure protection for the Butler County communities. People who are convicted of misdemeanor crimes will be sentenced to stay in the Butler County Jail for up to one year.
All violent and out of control inmates will be separated from the general population inmates to keep the peace inside the facility.
The Butler County Jail has five jail sells. These jail cells consist of three single cells, one six-person cell, and one three-person cell. The facility holds both male and female inmates alongside juveniles as well.
While inmates are serving their time out in the Butler County Jail, they can work throughout the jail such as laundry personnel or a kitchen staff member. In return for their hard work, they can shave off a few days from their overall sentence.
