The Boone County Jail & Detention Center is nestled in Burlington, Kentucky. The Boone County Sheriff’s Office is the law enforcement agency responsible for overseeing the day to day operation of the Boone County Jail & Detention Center.
The facility also comes equipped with a Public Health Nurse that visits the detention center three times each week.
The Boone County Jail & Detention Center was equipped to hold inmates with the security classification of minimum, medium, and maximum alongside work-release inmates.
Inmates will also be allowed to access medical care, use the telephones, and send and receive letters as well. The visitation is only for inmates who are not on any disciplinary status. Inmates will need to be in the facility for at least 72 hours before they will be permitted to have their first visit. The Boone County Jail allows inmates to have two half-hour visits every week.
Inmates who become a trusted inmate can have the opportunity to be a part of the road crew team. These positions will allow inmates to work outside the facility (under supervision of a correctional officer) to clean roadsides from litter, while also helping non-profits, alongside other various government agencies.
The Boone County Jail has many services and programs inmates can take advantage of. These services and programs are put into place to help inmates not re-offend when they get released from the facility.
