The facility is a maximum security correctional facility. The Greeley County Jail mission is to provide a safe and secure facility for both inmates and the staff.
They typically hold around 200 inmates every day. The facility can hold inmates from medium to max working inmates, medium general, max general population, and closed custody inmates.
Majority of the inmates that are already sentenced have sentences less than two years. The Greeley County Jail accepts inmates from surrounding municipalities and towns when there are no rooms in city jails.
All violent and out of control inmates will be separated from the general population inmates to keep the peace inside the facility at all times.
The Greeley County Jail also has an Interim Work Center. The Interim Work Center is also known as the low-medium custody facility. This facility holds around 90 inmates. There are an additional 20 inmates every day that is serving time with the Electronic Home Detention.
