The Mills County Jail was built back in 1941. The facility is nestled on the fourth floor of the Mills County Courthouse.
The losing of the status brought on research for a potential remodeling of the old facility, whether it was to renovate their current space or build a whole new facility.
The Mills County & Annex provides the inmates with all the necessary tools and resources to help them work on themselves and not commit the same mistakes and end back up in jail for reoffending.
The Mills County Jail & Annex works closely with various sheriff’s, police departments, and the United States Marshals.
In 2000, the detention center expanded and currently has the capacity to hold 20 inmates.
