The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is the agency responsible for keeping and maintaining the Madison County Youth Center. In addition to taking in their own residents, the facility also houses inmates wanted from other states and in other counties throughout the state of Indiana as well as take in inmates from the U.S. Marshall’s as well.
The Madison County Youth Center is nestled in Anderson, Indiana.
The Madison County Youth Center can hold up to 104 inmates at any given time. The facility is completely self-sufficient when it comes to day to day operations such as food service, laundry, and housing.
Madison County Youth Center wants to provide a safe and humane environment for both the staff members and the inmates. They want to ensure that inmates safety and health come first along with the staff’s safety as well. The staff members will do their rounds 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure there are no issues with inmates and to ensure that no inmate can escape from the facility.
The Madison County Youth Center also offers many programs for its inmates. These programs are to help inmates rehabilitate themselves to productive members of society. These programs include but not limited to:
- Substance Abuse Groups
- GED Prep
- Religious Programs
Inmates in the facility will also have the chance to get medical treatment when necessary.
