The main mission of the St. Clair County Juvenile Detention Center is to provide a safe and humane environment for everyone involved. The facility wants to ensure the inmates are being treated with the utmost respect, while also ensuring that their correctional officers are safe and out of harm’s way.
For example, the St. Clair County Juvenile Detention Center will house inmates after they get arrested, prior to their trial, and even after their trial prior to them going to a permanent facility. This facility is mainly used as we’ve previously stated as a temporary safe environment.

This facility will house adult male and adult female inmates. Inmates who end up with a sentence greater than 2 years, will be sent to state prison. Most inmates in the facility will end up serving time in the facility. The St. Clair County Juvenile Detention Center is a medium-security detention center. This facility does not house any juveniles inmates whatsoever.
This facility is an adult detention facility that also accepts inmates from nearly 30 other law enforcement agencies on a local, state or federal level.
