The Cook County Jail – Division III consists of two facilities. These facilities will only house both adult male and adult female inmates.
These facilities will consist of a maximum-security facility and a minimum-security. The maximum-security facility houses inmates who are waiting for their sentence and also adult female inmates who were remanded to serve out their sentence whether it is a single day up to one year.
The minimum-security facility is for adult male inmates who have been remanded to serve out their sentence from a single day up to one year. The minimum-security facility also includes those on work release, and the state S.T.S inmates as well.
