The Cook County Jail – Boot Camp is in Chicago, Illinois. The Cook County Sheriff’s Office is the law enforcement agency in charge of the day to day operation of the Cook County Jail – Boot Camp.
The Cook County Jail – Boot Camp is a medium-security facility. The facility operates on a 24-hour basis. The Cook County Jail – Boot Camp will only house adult male and adult female inmates. This facility will not house any juvenile inmates are housed in a different facility within the county.
The Cook County Jail – Boot Camp is made up of mainly of inmates who are currently waiting for their trial to start, inmates who are going through their trial, and inmates who are waiting to be sentenced. There are a number of inmates who are currently serving out their sentence in the facility as well. The Cook County Jail – Boot Camp will house inmates who have a sentence of two years or less. If an inmate is sentenced to more than two years, they will be transferred out to state prison within Illinois.
The Cook County Jail – Boot Camp allows inmates to phone home between the hours of 8 AM to 10 PM. Inmates will also be permitted to have visitors. These visitors can come during the listed hours. Inmates can also send and receive letters from their loved ones as well.
