The Clark County Jail will typically hold inmates who are waiting for their trial to start, inmates currently going through their trial, and inmates who are waiting to be sentenced. That does not mean, there are not inmates who are currently serving out their sentence in the facility. The Clark County Jail will only house inmates that have a sentence of 2 years or less. If an inmate is sentenced to more than two years, they will be transferred to a state prison in Illinois.
The Clark County Jail has a canteen or what is known as the commissary. Inmates will need money in their accounts to use this service.
