The Bond County Sheriff’s Office is the law enforcement agency responsible for operated and managing the Bond County Jail.
The facility is a medium-security jail. The facility does not hold any juvenile inmates. The Bond County Jail only holds adult males and adult females.
Most of the inmates in the Bond County Jail are inmates who are waiting for their trial and they have been denied bond or could not post bond.
In 2017, the Bond County Jail has a daily inmate population around 22. The Sheriff’s Office main mission is to try and reduce the inmate population by providing them with proactive, yet innovative release programs to help them not re-offend again. Some of these release programs include a court-sponsored pretrial release alongside community-based work programs that are operated through the Bond County Sheriff’s Office.
The correctional officers in the Bond County Jail go through intensive training that surpasses the state and national level. The correctional officers are trained to protect themselves, other inmates, and visitors from any sort of altercation that may arise.
The Bond County Jail also works closely with other law enforcement agencies too. They will take in federal inmates when needed along with taking inmates from the surrounding counties.
