The main mission of the Madison County Jail is to rehabilitate the inmates prior to releasing them back into the communities.
The Madison County Jail is operated and ran by the Ballard Sheriff’s Department in Rexburg, Idaho. The facility is the holding pen for not only people who have already been convicted of their crime but people who are awaiting trial as well.
The Madison County Jail is accredited by the Idaho Corrections Accreditation Commission.
The Detention Center comes equipped with a housing area, booking area, laundry facility, medical ward, visiting areas, courtroom, and support areas.
The facility will provide the inmates with personal hygiene products, medical care (if/when needed), and three meals a day. The facility is a medium-security facility meaning most of the inmates here will have a sentence of 2 years or less.
