The Lewis County Jail is a county jail in Idaho. The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office is the agency that is responsible for maintaining and operating the Lewis County Jail.
The facility is a medium security detention center. The Lewis County Jail is in Nazperce. While the facility only holds adult inmates they hold both male and female.
Many of the inmates that are in the facility come right from the Nazperce Police Department. This police department does not have its own long-term holding cells as this facility does. However, inmates are not just from this city, but cities all throughout the county and even people from other counties are in the Lewis County Jail.
Inmates who are in the facility are not just those who are currently serving out their time. There are inmates who are currently waiting for their trial and going through the judicial system who are in the facility as well.
Inmates who have already been sentenced typically carry a sentence of 2 years or less. If an inmate is convicted and their sentence is longer than the 2-year sentence they will be transferred to a different jail in the state of Texas.
All inmates who are in the custody of Lewis County Jail will have the opportunity to have medical care. All medical treatments are done by licensed professional doctors and nurses.
Along with medical care, all inmates will be given three meals a day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
