The Montgomery County Jail is in Mt. Vernon, Georgia. The Montgomery County Jail is operated and managed by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
The Montgomery County Jail also allows inmates to have visitors as well.
The inmates who are not released will have their own bed and be allotted three meals a day.
The facility does not only meet the state’s standards, but they also surpass the national standards as well. All deputies that work in the Black Hawk Jail go through intense training to help them provide a safe and humane environment for the staff members, visitors, and other inmates.
Inmates are released when they post bail, placed under probation, or on their own recognizance. While new inmates are coming in, there are also inmates leaving as well. The Montgomery County Jail receives new inmates to the jail daily.
This old Montgomery County Jail closed their doors back in 2007 and sat empty since then. The last execution that happened in the facility was back in 1949. They’ve even done their fair share of executions as well. The facility held many, many inmates over the years.
All violent and out of control inmates will be separated from the general population inmates to keep the peace inside the facility.
