The San Francisco County Juvenile Hall is operated and managed by the San Francisco County Sheriff’s Department.

The San Francisco County Juvenile Hall operates closely with other law enforcement agencies. They will accept inmates from surrounding cities, counties, and will even take in the occasional federal inmates.
The facility is a medium-security jail. They only house adult males and adult females. They do not house any juveniles. All inmates in the facility are not an escape risk. All inmates will have access to telephone, showers, and have three meals a day. Inmates will also have the chance to seek out medical care, if and when needed.
Majority of the inmates that are housed in the San Francisco County Juvenile Hall are inmates who are currently waiting for their trial or currently waiting to be sentenced. However, there are inmates in the facility that have already been sentenced and they are currently serving out their time in the facility.
