The Plumas County Jail is also known as the Plumas County Juvenile Detention. The Plumas County Jail is situated adjacent to the Plumas County Public Safety Building. The facility is also nearly one mile from the Plumas County Courthouse.
They house both male and female inmates. The jail can only house adult inmates. By law, they need to separate the male and female inmate population.
The Plumas County Juvenile Detention offers many programs, but one program that sticks out is the STS program. These projects can include anything from weed and brush control, all of the ways to construction. Inmates who are in this program will have the chance to shave off some time from their sentence. This program is where inmates can work in a work crew that is supervised by the California Department of Corrections. The work crew will do jobs for non-profit or public organizations typically in the Plumas County area.

Every inmate in the Plumas County Jail will be provided with bed linens, uniforms, three meals a day, and medical care.
Inmates who are housed in the David L. Their immediate relatives will be approved for on-site visits. Moss Criminal Justice Center will have the opportunity to have their family visit them.
