The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office is the agency responsible for keeping and maintaining the Los Angeles County Sheriff Jail. In addition to taking in their own residents, the facility also houses inmates wanted from other states and in other counties throughout the state of California as well as take in inmates from the U.S. Marshall’s as well.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff Jail also does not only house inmates who were arrested and/or convicted of crimes in the Los Angeles County. The facility will also take in inmates from the US Marshals, other counties, and the Department of Corrections (state prisons).
These programs are to help inmates rehabilitate themselves to productive members of society. The Los Angeles County Sheriff Jail also offers many programs for its inmates.

They offer many programs including GED prep, religious services, commissary, and even substance abuse programs and classes. The main mission of the Los Angeles County Sheriff Jail is to be cost-effective, but also supply inmates with all the resources they need to help improve upon themselves for when they get released from the facility.
