Run by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office, The Camp Challenger currently houses a maximum capacity of 64 inmates who are held in nine connecting housing units, plus the Receiving and Discharge/Transport unit.
The Operations Division of Camp Challenger is responsible for the day to day operations of the jail. This division manages the facility and keeps inmate population at a controllable level.
This facility has maintained accreditation from the Corrections Bureau by the American Correctional Association. Presently, they are one of only two facilities in the State of California to hold this accreditation.
