The Bar-O Boys Ranch is a county jail in California. The Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office is the agency that is responsible for maintaining and operating the Bar-O Boys Ranch.
Inmates who are in the facility are not just those who are currently serving out their time. There are inmates who are currently waiting for their trial and going through the judicial system who are in the facility as well.
Along with medical care, all inmates will be given three meals a day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The custody division of Bar-O Boys Ranch is the division that is responsible for the custody and care of all inmates. These responsibilities including but not limited to checking all incoming and outgoing mail, passing out the inmates three meals, ensuring all inmates receive their medication, making sure they follow all housing assignments, ensuring inmates are being transported when they should and doing random housing checks throughout the day and week.
Majority of the inmates that are already sentenced have sentences less than two years. The Cook County Jail accepts inmates from surrounding municipalities and towns.
The facility holds both male and female inmates alongside juveniles as well. These jail cells consist of three single cells, one six-person cell, and one three-person cell. The Bar-O Boys Ranch has five jail sells.
