The Polk County Jail is one of the direct supervision facility. A direct supervision jail mainly focuses on managing the inmate’s behavior to provide a secure and humane environment for staff, visitors, and inmates. The staff will interact with the inmates in their housing units, while also keeping an eye on them to pinpoint issues before they get too big.
The Polk County Jail has its current inmate roster available on the web for the community and the general public to search at their leisure. The current inmate roster only will display inmates in the custody of Polk County Jail. Inmates who have been released, put on probation, or transferred to another jail will not show up in this roster.
The project will also be adding nearly 320 beds to the Polk County Jail, which will bring up the grand total to around 720 beds in the county jail alone.
They will consist of a video visitation area, telephones to call home, gaming and dining tables, a common television, recreational area, a classroom, and a canteen/vending machines. Every housing unit is nearly the same.
The Polk County Jail is a medium-security facility. The facility only houses adult female and adult male inmates. This facility does not juvenile inmates.
