Lee County Jail main mission is to protect their staff, inmates, and the community they serve. They also want to provide the best of the best programs to help reduce the likelihood of inmates being re-incarcerated.
The commissary will deliver the inmates goods on Mondays and Fridays. The inmates will have the option to purchase items from the commissary.
If an inmate is in need of medical attention, they will work with Southern Health Partners for their needs. All inmates will have three meals a day and option to access medical care.
The majority of the inmates housed in the Lee County Jail are waiting for their trial to start, going through their trial, and inmates who are waiting to be sentenced. There is a handful of inmates that have already been sentenced. The Lee County Jail will only keep inmates if they have a sentence shorter than two years. If an inmate is a sentence to a sentence longer than two years, they will be transferred to a state prison in Marianna.
However, they will take in inmates from the state or federal prisons when necessary. The facility holds inmates who are residents of Lee County.
The jail holds around 62 inmates on any given day.
