The Jackson County Jail is located in Newport, Arkansas. The facility is operated and ran by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.
The Jackson County Jail is a medium- security detention center. The facility will only house both adult male and adult female inmates. This facility does not house any juvenile inmates. The juvenile inmates are housed in a different facility.
All inmates will have access to medical care (if needed). Inmates can expect to receive three meals a day as well as a highly structured day. All inmates will also have access to personal hygiene care products as well.
If an inmate acts out, they may lose their privileges and will be separated from the rest of the general population.
The Jackson County Jail accepts inmates from other law enforcement agencies on a local, state, and even federal level. The facility is open to book and process inmates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The facility books and processes inmates on a daily basis.
Inmates who have completed their sentence, inmates who have posted bond and inmates who have were not convicted at their trial. The Jackson County Jail not only takes new inmates daily, but they also release inmates daily as well.
