The Drew County Detention Facility was built back in 1973. The facility is a maximum-security jail. The Drew County Sheriff’s Department is responsible for maintaining and operating the Drew County Detention Facility.
The Drew County Detention Facility mission is to provide a safe and secure facility for both inmates and the staff. The facility is a medium security correctional facility.
Inmates who may be a risk to the peace will be separated from the general population pool.
However, at times, the Drew County Jail will also house federal inmates and inmates that are from other counties. The Drew County Jail does not the only house sentenced inmates. These inmates have been arrested in Drew County. They also house inmates who are awaiting their trial.
