The Santa Clara South County Enforcement Division is now known as the Santa Clara County Correctional Facility. The facility has been in the Santa Clara County area for nearly 200 years.

Throughout the decades the facility has received much-needed care. The current facility underwent a huge renovation between 1996 to 1998. It cost the county nearly 30 million. However, this renovation allowed the jail to expand to 634 inmates.

The Santa Clara County Correctional Facility is where inmates will go when they are going through the judicial system. The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department is the agency that mans the facility.

Inmates in the facility are either awaiting their trial, waiting for transportation to their ‘home’ prison or serving out their sentence.

However, the facility is not just for those who live and reside in the Oneida area, the facility also reserves 35 beds for federal prisoners. These beds will be occupied when a federal prisoner is being transported throughout the states and may have a court appearance in the area.

The facility prides themselves on not only keeping their staff safe but their inmates and visitors as well. The facility follows all laws and regulations to ensure the safety of everyone involved. All of their staff members go through rigorous training prior to working with the inmates in the facility.
