The Box Elder County Jail is made up of mainly of inmates who are currently waiting for their trial to start, inmates who are going through their trial, and inmates who are waiting to be sentenced. There are a number of inmates who are currently serving out their sentence in the facility as well. The Box Elder County Jail will house inmates who have a sentence of two years or less. If an inmate is sentenced to more than two years, they will be transferred out to state prison within Utah.
